This is a quick announcement that there’ll be no Naruto Shippuuden episode airing this week. The next Naruto Shippuuden episode, which is episode 91, will resume on January 8, 2009.

In the meantime, this is also the chance for others to catch up with the show! For those who need to catch up with Naruto Shippuuden, download all the previous episodes HERE.

And not to forget, once again, HAPPY NEW YEAR OF 2009!

Actually, I can’t say Sasuke’s name without making a face. :\ It’s not that I don’t like him, it’s just that I hate him. OK, kidding. NOT. But I’ve learnt to ignore him, so it’s alright and he doesn’t really bother me all that much anymore.

Unfortunately, in this new Naruto Shippuuden arc, which has just started, Sasuke is going to appear more (and annoys me of course).

I actually haven’t watched Naruto Shippuuden episode 90 yet, but from the sneak preview of the new arc, they’re going to focus on the Three-Tails and Akatsuki’s plot in capturing it. Of course, apart from the Sasuke/Orochimaru/Kabuto love triangle, I mean hideout, that is.

Anyway, though I haven’t watched Naruto Shippuuden episode 90 fully, I managed to notice something “missing” on this episode. It’s the scene when Naruto, Sakura, Sai, and Kakashi was exiting from Ichiraku Ramen, and Konohamaru was waiting for Naruto in front of the shop.

In this episode, we see Konohamaru showing Naruto his “new” Sexy no Jutsu, “girl on girl version”. But what is missing was the NEXT Sexy no Jutsu, “guy on guy version”, which Konohamaru showed to Sakura because Sakura beat him before that, for making such a “perverted” jutsu!

Though, in the anime version, it was Moegi who beat Konohamaru, not Sakura.

I personally haven’t really watched this episode, just a quick view to take the screencaps of the episode and that’s it, so I can’t really comment on what’s going on in this episode. Probably later on tonight.

From the look of it, seems like they’re going to have a little bit of fillers again in the next arc (the previews were shown at the end of this episode). It’s understandable, though a bit disappointing, since the anime now isn’t too far away from where the manga’s at right now. So they just need to make fillers. And fillers are baaahd.

Oh well, enjoy the double episode!

Nice episode. I was actually just realized this week that they actually didn’t make that scene where Shikamaru started smoking. The scene was supposed to be in episode 80 or episode 81, after Asuma “finished” his last smoke, and again when Team 10 was about to leave Konoha, at the main gate. Even though Shikamaru hates cigarettes very much, he started smoking in remembrance of Asuma, and once they’ve avenged Asuma, he stopped smoking. That was in the manga by the way. But in the anime, they took out the smoking scene, and instead, Shikamaru just carrying Asuma’s lighter around.

Probably they’re afraid some underage kids who are emotional enough about Asuma dying would start picking up a cigarette and smoke.

By the way, I looked up the manga again, and I noticed that back in episode 80, Hidan and Kakuzu were called back by Pain (Akatsuki leader) to seal the TWO-tails. But actually in the manga they were called back to seal the THIRD-tails. But most dialogues actually stay the same.

In this week’s episode, it got as much to Kakashi almost got pwned by Kakuzu/Hidan in their combo attack. Hidan said, “Let’s do it like always”. So seems like this was “the” attack they used to take down the two-tails and Chiriku (notice the amount of damage of the Fire temple after they got Chiriku down; so it must be that killer attack Kakuzu used against Kakashi).

And what would come of Team Asuma? Next week!

What an interesting and provoking episode this week! Very nice episode indeed. We didn’t quite see the relationship between Kakuzu and Hidan as a pair working for Akatsuki as much in the manga, but it was elaborated very well in the anime. I think I don’t remember Hidan being “extremely” whiny in the manga, just probably a bit loud. But in the anime his character turned out pretty funny (I actually like it), very whiny, very loud, and a bit childish. It’s funny though, with all those characters mixed into one.

And Kakuzu, his character stays pretty much the same as in the manga, with probably an addition of being a little bit “caring” (^.^) toward Hidan. And that’s funny too, since Kakuzu seemed like a cold-hearted Akatsuki, cold-blooded one who only cares about “kane” (money), but he actually took the time to pick up Hidan’s dropped forehead protector! And it seems like Kakuzu always babysit Hidan when they’re on the move together!! LMAO!

Yeah, like when they noticed Shikamaru’s kagemane following them, Kakuzu alerted Hidan. And when Shikamaru’s second explosive tag attack coming from above Hidan, Kakuzu called out Hidan’s name again. “Hidan, above you!” “Hidan, dodge!” “Hidan, let’s go” “Hidan, come on” “Hidan, sit still” “Hidan, if you move too much your neck’s gonna break” “Hidan, your neck’s ugly cover it up” “Hidan this, Hidan that, ne, Kakuzu-chan?” >.<

Now, now, who’s more intimate, Itachi/Kisame or Kakuzu/Hidan? LMAO.

Today isn’t the best day for me, since my account at YouTube just got suspended! Yea, permanently, big deal. There goes all my efforts along with it. Sure it’s because of the copyright thing, bla bla, but what is up with those other countless Naruto vids at youtube? *Pissed* But that said, I can’t do anything about it now, can I? Whatever.

Anyway, this week’s episode was a OK. Showing Shikamaru got emotional and all throughout the day of Asuma’s funeral was pretty nice. This episode also reminded us of how close and how good Team 10’s teamwork has always been. I think if talking about teamwork and closeness, Team 10 are ichi ban compared to the other Konoha 11 teams. Yeah, who can beat the collaboration of Ino-Shika-Chou.

And if you noticed, they showed quite a lot of scenes with children playing around the village, and even some children visiting Asuma’s grave. That, of course, if you read the manga, has something to do with “who” the “King” that Asuma talked about is. If you didn’t read the manga, I believe you’ll know pretty soon. And along with a good news about Kurenai.

In the meantime, Team 10 are planning on a revenge without the initial knowledge of Fifth Hokage, heading out of Konoha to avenge their Sensei. Gambare o, Daijippan!

One of my favorite parts on Naruto Shippuuden episode 81 was the part where Sakura and Sai had that little talk in the rain while watching Naruto training from afar. This part was not in the manga, but it’s kinda cute. Sai usually acts like an asshole, or if not, he’s just being completely emotionless, and keep quoting stuff he previously read from books all in completely wrong situations. But in this part he at least acted like a “normal” human being, even though in the end he still said he picked it all from a book too.

And I sure loved the filler scene between Naruto and Kakashi when Naruto was doing his shape manipulation and wind nature manipulation with two clones while he was releasing his chakra. Funny as hell, I gotta say. I think more spontaneously funny scenes like this are better than the stupidly dragging filler scenes which they had on Saving Gaara arc (yeah, like everyone don’t remember that long scenes of Naruto and Kakashi jumping from trees to trees going after Deidara which was like, more than ten whole episodes!).

By the way, the sad news has reached Konoha, and next week (err..this week actually, since I wrote this pretty late) looks like there gonna be the funeral for Asuma, and then the most exciting thing in the arc will begin!! Yosh!

Oh, one more thing I forgot to mention –KONAN!! They’ve shown the image of Konan when Pein was explaining Akatsuki’s true goals to Hidan!

It wasn’t a clear view, of course, since the Akatsuki were always on that “electro” mode when they are sealing the bijuu’s. But at least we see Konan there, and when Pein mentioned each reason for Akatsuki members to fight, which are; resources, land, grudges, love, and so on, the scene was right about at Konan when Pein said “love”. So I supposed Konan is fighting for her love for Pein? This is getting interesting.

Am I the only one who was a little surprised that they colored Pein/Pain, the Akatsuki leader pale?! I mean, like, Sai’s skin is more pale than the others in average, but Pein’s is like corpse-pale!

Well, if you are reading the manga as well, maybe you are already guessing why is he that pale (Spoiler Alert: Maybe it has something to do with bodies he keep switching, since we don’t know where his real body is and whether he has one! And basically all the bodies he’s been using are all the bodies of DEAD shinobi’s, so…).

I mean, like, we’ve been seeing the fans colored Pein with usual skin color, so I wasn’t expecting him to turn out that pale on the anime.

Anyway, Pein and his dead bodies aside, Asuma is for sure going to turn pale sooner, he is dead! It was a sad episode. I bet many cried all the way through the episode 80! Turned out they didn’t make many filler scenes (if there’s any?) in this episode. The stuff each Ino, Chouji, and Shikamaru recalled about Asuma were all original stuff from the manga. The saddest part for me was when Shikamaru told Ino to stop healing Asuma, told them to listen to Asuma; that it was going to be his last words. And when the rain started to play the part in the episode! (Rain always plays its part well, doesn’t it? Like the fight between Naruto and Sasuke at the Valley Of The End!).

Can’t wait to see the next episode, when the word gets out about Asuma’s death.
